Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS (faq)

How safe is your germination guarantee?

We provide a maximum germination rate of 70%. This means that out of every 10 seeds, at least 7 will pop. However, just like any other plant seeds, cannabis ones need certain conditions in order to sprout, including the right temperature, light, and growing environment.

Why does the seed I bought look small/pale/etc.?

Just like other seeds, cannabis ones come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. These traits do not affect their plant characteristics or ability to germinate. A small seed doesn’t necessarily grow into a small plant.

For this reason, the appearance of your seeds (if they are undamaged) may not be enough to apply for compensation. However, if the seeds do not germinate, please let us know.

What if my order is shipped to a wrong/invalid address?

Whenever you place an order with Greencert MD, you will receive an automated email to the email address provided at checkout. This message contains the list of ordered items, bonuses, and the full delivery address entered at checkout. The parcel will be shipped to this exact address, so make sure to double-check the automated email.

If you provided the correct address but the parcel does not reach it, please contact us via the Contact Form at the bottom of this page, and we will take steps to resolve the problem.

Note: We do not bear any responsibility for missing or lost parcels if the customer provided a wrong address, regardless of whether the parcel was misdelivered or lost due to that reason.

What do I do if my parcel status is marked as “delivered” but I haven’t received it?

If tracking shows that the parcel has been delivered but you have not received it, please contact your postal service for more details. The parcel could be stuck in transit at the post office because they failed to reach your location or complete the delivery for some reason. If this doesn’t help, feel free to contact us via the Contact Form at the bottom of this page so that we can provide you with the support you need.

At the same time, the official tracking information remains a valid reason to consider a parcel delivered. Once it is stated as “delivered”, our obligations are considered fulfilled, and our company bears no further responsibility regarding the parcel’s location.

Can my order be confiscated?

Cannabis seeds are still illegal to transport across state lines under federal law and will be confiscated if found in the mail. However, the DEA effectively acknowledged that cannabis seeds are generally uncontrolled, so you shouldn’t worry about going against the authorities.

This position stems from the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized hemp at the federal level, if it contains no more than 0.3% THC. The DEA says that because a cannabis seed itself contains less than 0.3% THC, it should be considered hemp, i.e. not a controlled substance. For the time being, this is just an ‘official determination’ and not law.

We are constantly improving our stealth packaging solutions to disguise the package and prevent interception. In the unlikely event that this still occurs, you’ll receive a notice from us or the postal service. We will provide a replacement for the lost package free of charge.

What if my plant becomes a hermaphrodite?

A female cannabis plant can develop into a hermaphrodite in response to a stressful environment. This can happen at any point in the plant’s life cycle. Stress may be caused by several factors, such as too much heat or cold, too much or too little water, changes or disruptions in the photoperiod, over-fertilizing, poor soil content, fungus or mold issues, pest infections, harvesting too late, poor training techniques, etc.

To avoid hermaphrodite plants, the main rule is to avoid any kind of stress during the flowering stage and maintain them in a favorable environment. If a plant turns hermaphroditic, you should harvest it ASAP before the male flowers release pollen. If you notice male qualities in your plant, follow these steps:

  1. Move the hermie plant away from the growing space.
  2. Carefully remove the pollen sacs (banana-shaped structures that form on the nodes).
  3. Check the plant every day and remove the sacs as soon as you identify them.

What if my feminized seeds turn male?

Feminized seeds are genetically engineered to only produce female plants, and they do so in about 97% of cases (in regular seeds, the rate is 50%). Besides genetics, plant gender also depends on the growing environment; the concentration of nutrients, light, temperature, and humidity.

These tips will greatly increase the odds that your seeds will grow into female plants:

  • More blue light exposure. Provide the plants with blue spectrum-dominant lighting (70%).
  • Higher humidity levels. Maintain humidity at 70-75%.
  • Lower temperatures. Keep your temps at about 70-78 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 65-72 °F at night.
  • Higher nitrogen content. Increase the nitrogen levels in the soil to 0.3-0.4%.

Another method to increase the number of female plants is to apply the hormone ethylene during pre-flower. Ethylene is given off, for example, by ripening bananas. Before you germinate your seeds, place them in a sealed plastic bag together with banana skins for two weeks. Wrap the banana peels in tissue to absorb any moisture they release. Keep the bag in a warm place and replace the peels after a couple of days as they ripen.

Why do my plants look different when they’re supposed to be the same strain?

Seeds of the same strain can produce plants that look different. These seeds with various expressions are called phenotypes. They carry different characteristics of the same genetics, from the height and growth rate to the shape, just like puppies from the same litter can look so different from each other. This happens to cannabis too because most strains on the market today are hybrids that combine various parent genetics.

For example, Serious 6 by Serious Seeds has two phenotypes – roughly half of the plants have a purple hue in the flowers and leaves, while the other half has a green color. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get 50% purple and 50% green plants from one seed pack. If we’re talking about a 6-pack, the ratio may vary from 3/3 to 6/0. These fluctuations should not affect the plant’s ability to grow and bring a potent harvest.

What if my weed tastes different than expected?

As personal perceptions and impressions of a product are subjective, they do not provide a reasonable basis for a claim. However, we’d like to hear your feedback on our seeds anyway. You can leave this on the strain’s page in the Reviews section. You might also want to find out what other growers have said about the strain’s flavor and other characteristics before you place an order. This way, there will be fewer unknowns to deal with.

Why are my plants not growing as tall/high-yielding as expected?

There are many factors that can halt or slow the growth of a cannabis plant and affect its characteristics. These include the growing environment (light, temps, soil type, pH levels), over- and underwatering, nutrient deficiency, stress caused by pests/diseases, and many others. As a result, the yields, height, and other numbers may be lower than stated in the description.

The characteristics provided in the description are true for conditions that are close to perfect. This means that even a slight deviation from proper conditions can influence how the plant grows and how much you harvest.

How can I leave feedback?

If you have any questions/suggestions or simply want to share your experience growing or shopping with us, we would be excited to hear from you.
